Brendan McDonald
Founding Partner

Prior to founding Solas, Brendan worked as a Director at Equitix, a UK infrastructure manager. Prior to this, Brendan spent a number of years working in the OCIO team at BlackRock where he advised institutional clients on their allocations to private equity and infrastructure and also advised clients in relation to private fund transactions in the secondary market.

Brendan began his career in the manager research team at Willis Towers Watson where he reached the level of consultant and qualified as a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries (fellowship awarded in 2017) and Chartered Enterprise Risk Actuary.

Brendan has a BSc in Actuarial Science from Queens University Belfast and a MSc in Actuarial Managementfrom Bayes Business School, London.

Sam Stevens
Partner

Sam has over a decade of experience in private markets, with a focus on infrastructure, private debt, and secondaries. He began his career at Deloitte and Lloyds Banking Group before moving into investor relations at Ardian, fundraising at Ancala, and later supporting strategy development and secondary transactions at MML Capital. He has led successful fundraises and structured continuation vehicles for institutional investors. Sam holds a BA in Economics from Durham University and is a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA).

Shreya Gupta
Vice President

Shreya brings over five years of experience in financial analysis, investment diligence, and advisory, having worked across private equity, credit, and special opportunities funds. She has collaborated with senior leadership to execute transactions and is currently pursuing her MBA at University of Oxford’s Saïd Business School. Shreya holds a B.Tech in Computer Science.

Liam McDonald
General Counsel

Liam is head of General Counsel at Solas, heading up the legal function of the business. Liam began his legal career in 2014 at RP Crawford & Co. Solicitors and was made Partner in 2019. Liam has a broad range of experience and acts as a key internal advisor on legal matters related to Solas’s business.

Liam holds a LLB in Law from Queens University Belfast and is a member of the Law Society of Northern Ireland. Liam has experience in growing and building businesses from relative scratch and is in charge of strategic growth planning for Solas.

Jack Dyer-Slade

Jack brings experience as a Financial Analyst at the Bank of New York, specializing in financial modeling, forecasting, and operational efficiency to support complex transactions across various sectors. He is currently studying Economics at the University of Bath and is also a competitive triathlete.
